Rhine on Flames // Sankt Goar, Germany
Hi guys! Dan and I just returned from an absolutely wonderful Columbus Day weekend in Paris with our dear friends Lyn and Mike. Posts on our crepe gorging-wine loving adventure to come but I wanted to first share our recent trip to the Rhine! Enjoy! For over 50 years, each summer three towns along the Rhine river alternate hosting ‘Rhine in Flames’ – a spectacular event with fireworks, wine, music and lots and lots of sausages. Dan, our friend Ben and I journeyed to Oberwesel and biked to Saint Goar to join in the festivities. After biking along the Rhine to Bacharach earlier this year, I was dying to go back and share the views with Ben and Dan. As before, the ride is lovely though I haven’t perfect biking and focusing, just take my word for it. Once we got to Saint Goar we joined in the festival – drinking and eating for almost 6 hours.
Being the gentlemen that he is, Ben purchased his prop. 🙂
That funny little cart would be a mobile bar. Oh boy.
We stuck around for sunset for the firework show – though I didn’t get any pictures. Next time, swear!
