3 Easy Ways to Earn Miles & Points (by Stephanie!)
Working in education, you do not exactly make the big bucks. This has not stopped me from traveling. For the past two years, I’ve been using frequent flyer miles and hotel points to fund my travels, which have included South America, Europe, Asia, and my most recent trip to Bora Bora to celebrate my birthday.
Many people assume the only way to earn frequent flyer miles and hotel points is through traveling or spending on an airline/hotel affiliated credit card. To me, those are just some of the basic ways. I’ve got about a million tricks and tips up my sleeve for earning thousands of frequent flyer miles and hotel points. I’m going to share with you three easy ways to earn FREE frequent flyer miles and hotel points without leaving your living room.
1 | Searches on Bing
Did you know that Bing will reward you for simply using their search engine? You can earn up to 15 points per day (by using their search engine 30 times). You can exchange 385 points for 100 frequent flyer miles or hotel points with the following loyalty programs…
• American Airlines
• Frontier Airlines
• Hawaiian Airlines
• IHG Hotels (i.e. Holiday Inn)
• United Airlines
• US Airways
• Virgin America
• Virgin Atlantic
I use Bing as my search engine while at work and I easily earn my 15 points per day.
2 | Marriott’s Point Plus Program
Marriott’s Point Plus program allows you to earn up to 2,000 Marriott points per month by interacting with Marriott on social media. For example, you can earn 25 Marriott points just for using the hashtag #MRpoints on Twitter.
Make sure you register before you start tweeting away: If you don’t want to use your personal account, simply make another account and use it for to earn miles and points (and any other corporate promotions you want to take advantage of).
3 | Completing Surveys
United Airlines fans can celebrate because they can earn FREE miles just for completing surveys on OpinionMilesClub. The surveys vary in length and the amount of miles you’ll earn. Miles are automatically deposited into your United account. This is also an easy way to keep your United Airlines account up to date and prevent your miles from expiring. OpinionMilesClub has a promotion for new members that offers 300 miles just for completing your profile.
